Shakshuka
Crafted with HORMUZA Layered Spiced Tomato Sauce
A comforting one-pan classic where gently poached eggs meet Hormuza's layered tomato sauce.
Rich depth without overwhelming heat — a weeknight one-pan built for the family table.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1½ cups HORMUZA Layered Spiced Tomato Sauce
- 4–6 large eggs
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley or coriander for garnish
Optional extras
- Crumbled feta or ricotta cheese
- Crusty bread or pita for serving
Method
- 1Heat the oil
Cook the onion, garlic and bell pepper in olive oil over medium heat until soft.
- 2Add the sauce
Stir in HORMUZA, cumin, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until glossy and well coated.
- 3Add the eggs
Make little wells in the sauce and crack in the eggs. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 5–7 minutes, until the eggs are just set to your liking.
- 4Garnish & serve
Sprinkle with chopped parsley (optional extras like feta, cheese) and serve directly from the pan.
